GUIDE TO SETTING UP EMAIL ON IPHONE
Here’s a step-by-step tutorial for setting up email on the iPhone’s Mail app:
On your iPhone, open the «Settings» app.
Scroll down and tap on «Passwords & Accounts».
Tap on «Add Account».
Select «Other» to manually add the account.
Enter your email address and the password associated with the account.
Example account: myemail@mycompany.com
Password (you can copy and paste from the TecnoPage consultant’s WhatsApp message).
Tap on «Next» and wait while your credentials are verified.
If your account isn’t compatible with automatic setup, a screen will appear asking if you want to add the account manually or use automatic setup. Select «Manual Setup».
On the manual setup screen, make sure «Mail» is enabled.
In «Incoming Mail Server,» check if «SSL» is enabled and the port is «993». Also, verify that the selected account type is IMAP.
For older devices that do not have SSL security settings, you can use the IMAP incoming port 143 without security.
The incoming mail server, as the default for all our clients, would be the subdomain mail.company.com where company.com is the client’s domain.
Example: if your company’s domain is petshop.com.br, enter the following for the incoming mail server: mail.petshop.com.br.
In «Outgoing Mail Server,» check if «SSL» is enabled and the port is «465». Also, verify that the selected account type is SMTP.
For older devices that do not have SSL security settings, you can use the outgoing SMTP port 587 without security.
The outgoing mail server, as the default for all our clients, would be the subdomain mail.company.com where company.com is the client’s domain.
Example: if your company’s domain is petshop.com.br, enter the following for the outgoing mail server: mail.petshop.com.br.
Tap «Next» and wait while the settings are verified.
If everything is configured correctly, you will see a screen that says «Account Verified» and you can choose which elements of the account to sync with your iPhone.
That’s it! Now you should be able to send and receive emails in the iPhone Mail app. If you have issues with the setup, check if you entered your email address and associated account password correctly. Also, make sure you entered the incoming and outgoing server settings correctly.
